Chris Schmidt

Mr. Schmidt represents and consults with individuals, entities, and business owners on the challenges they
face throughout the life cycle of business. His work involves providing advice regarding choice of entity,
business formation, growth strategies, general business matters, mergers and acquisitions and other business
transactions. Mr. Schmidt also provides consulting to individuals and estates on designing estate plans that
ensure a smooth transition from one generation to the next in a tax efficient manner.

As a member of the Advanced Tax Strategies practice group, Mr. Schmidt's representation provides his
clients with ideas and strategies that can increase cash flow and avoid potentially negative impacts from
improperly structured transactions.

Mr. Schmidt is involved in a variety of volunteer roles including serving as a member of the Operations
Committee and as the Executive Secretary to the J. Reuben Clark Law Society, the Treasurer of the
Colorado Bar Association's Tax Section Executive Counsel, and as a youth leader for his local church. In
his spare time, Mr. Schmidt enjoys spending time with his wife and three children, hiking, being on the lake
and traveling.
