Kate Willard is an attorney in the Litigation Practice Group at Goodspeed Merrill who specializes in disputes involving real property and corporate matters. Kate is an experienced trial attorney with success representing clients in state and federal courts across Colorado and New Mexico. Kate has significant experience representing common interest communities as general counsel. She assists corporate boards with conflicts involving owners, vendors, and other stakeholders. She has successfully represented clients against claims for breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, bad faith, and negligence. In addition to her litigation practice, Kate regularly advises clients on compliance and regulatory matters. She leverages her courtroom experience to help clients avoid liability while navigating the complicated and ever-changing legal framework affecting common interest communities. Prior to joining Goodspeed Merrill, Kate represented clients in the development of natural resources including oil and gas, wind, and solar energy.
In her spare time, Kate enjoys staying active and spending time with her family, friends, and Saint Bernard, Stevie. She enjoys softball, volleyball, getting lost in a good book, and exploring her creative side.
