Attorneys. Counselors. Business Partners.
The first attorney in her family, Taylor Smith decided to pursue a career in estate planning because she wanted to problem solve and connect with families. She is a self-proclaimed “people-person,” and wanted to use her law degree to serve her community and help families create plans that give them peace of mind and protection.
Experience
Taylor has helped hundreds of families create estate plans across the state of Oklahoma, and spent time educating clients through seminars and workshops. After her first year of practice, she received the Oklahoma NextGen Under 30 award in the Legal category. She has continued to focus her practice on estate planning throughout the years and has managed two separate offices in Oklahoma City and in Tulsa.
Taylor is a member of the Oklahoma Bar Association and the Estate Planning, Probate and Trust Section of the OBA.
Education
A native Texan, Taylor first attended junior college at Tyler Junior College in Tyler, Texas, where she played volleyball on a full athletic scholarship. She then transferred after sophomore year, and went on to receive her undergraduate degree from the University of Alabama where she became a member of the Alpha Delta chapter of Alpha Omicron Pi sorority. Taylor earned her Juris Doctorate from the University of Oklahoma College of Law. In her time at OU College of Law, she was selected as a 1L mentor, served as 2L Class President of the Student Bar Association (and planned a 300+ person Law Prom), and was a member of the Organization for Advancement of Women in Law Association. In her second year, she was selected as the only Oklahoma representative for the Ms. JD Leadership Academy Conference held at Harvard Law School.
Personal
Taylor is currently serving as a Board of Directors of Freedom City, a nonprofit whose mission is to remove barriers and provide support for children and families in Oklahoma City to reach their potential through education, mentorship and counseling programs.
Taylor and her husband Caleb have two daughters and live just outside of Tulsa in the suburbs. Taylor enjoys spending her time with her family, trying new recipes and restaurants, and playing outside with the girls. She loves all music, from Led Zeppelin to Johnny Cash, and is a pianist in addition to a great teammate in music trivia. Taylor feels that life is short, and our time is best spent with the people we love and doing things that bring us joy.
