John-Paul Sauer

Mr. Sauer is a seasoned attorney specializing in Employment and Corporate law, with a distinguished career in civil trial advocacy. His practice is dedicated to defending employers and representing businesses and individuals in litigation. With a wealth of experience, Mr. Sauer provides expert counsel to employers on best practices and robust defense in litigation. He has successfully represented clients in investigations and proceedings involving the DOL, EEOC, CCRD, and DOJ, as well as in administrative hearings, professional reviews, mediations, arbitrations, jury trials, and appellate courts.

Mr. Sauer began his legal journey in government. He has handled high-profile cases, providing litigation and advisory services to elected officials and leaders in law enforcement, health care, corrections, and technology. Mr. Sauer has also represented hospitals, healthcare facilities, physicians, and healthcare practitioners in both administrative and civil litigation, including significant civil rights and employment cases, and served as lead counsel in several class and collective wage-hour lawsuits.

Currently, at Goodspeed Merrill, Mr. Sauer leverages his extensive experience in high-stakes litigation to focus on corporate and employment law advising and litigation.

Mr. Sauer earned his Bachelor of Arts from Colorado College and his Juris Doctor from the University of Colorado. He is licensed to practice in all Colorado state courts, the United States District Court for the District of Colorado, and the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Outside of his legal practice, John enjoys golfing and exploring the great outdoors with his family.
